Thomas Rawiri brings over a decade of governance and iwi engagement experience. A proud descendant of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki and Ngāti Pāoa, he offers an unbroken lineage to Tāmaki Makaurau and a deep understanding of our rohe, its people, and its unique hauora needs.

Raised in South Auckland and educated through kōhanga reo, kura kaupapa Māori, and kuraāiwi, Thomas brings the perspectives and voice of his reanga into every forum. He is committed to embedding Te Ao Māori values into health strategy and whānau-centred decision-making.

He serves as a Trustee of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki Trust PSGE and Chair of Tuwhitia kia Angitu Inc Trust, with a focus on Māori health, education, and cultural revitalisation. He is passionate about supporting iwi to lead in hauora through mana motuhake, manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga.
