We are committed to ensuring Maaori-led solutions remain at the heart of health transformation. Together, with our board, our partners, and our whaanau, we will continue to uphold tino rangatiratanga in health and shape a future where whaanau wellbeing is prioritised.
We are part of a national network of 14 Iwi Maaori Partnership Boards (IMPBs) across Aotearoa. Each IMPB is legislated to serve its rohe and ensure Maaori perspectives shape health decisions at a regional and national level.
As a legislated board under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, our role is to:
- represent mana whenua and Maaori communities in South Auckland
- ensure Maaori aspirations and needs are reflected in health strategies
- partner with Te Whatu Ora to influence planning and investment in hauora Maaori.

The National Hauora Coalition, Ngaa Pou Hauora oo Taamaki Makaurau Iwi Maaori Partnership Board and and Te Tiratū Iwi Māori Partnership Board are proud to come together under the collaborative entity, Rangitāmiro as the preferred candidate for commissioning Whānau Ora region 1 across Te Tai Tokerau (Northland), Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), and Waikato.

Who we are
Ko wai maatou
We work alongside iwi, hapuu, whaanau, and Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand to create lasting change in hauora Maaori. Our mahi includes:
- listening to whaanau to understand their health priorities
- holding the system accountable for delivering real and measurable improvements for Maaori
- advocating for Maaori-led health approaches that reflect our unique needs and aspirations
- ensuring transparency by reporting back to iwi, hapuu, and whaanau
- prioritising kaupapa Maaori investment in health services and initiatives
- embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in health decision-making.
We represent the following iwi and hapuu, who hold ancestral connection to the whenua and rohe:
Te Aakitai Waiohua, Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua, Ngaati Tamaoho, Te Kawerau aa Maki, Ngaai Tai ki Taamaki, Ngāti Pāoa, Ngaati Naho, Ngaati Tiipa, Ngaai Aamaru, and Ngaati Tahinga.
