Kandi Ngataki

Kandi is a Waikato District Councillor for the Te Kohanga and Pookeno area and serves as Kaiwhakahaere of Te Koohanga Reo o Te Awamaarahi. She leads Huakina WAI 330 claim and played a key role in Te Puaha o Waikato COVID-19 response, leading wellbeing, vaccination, and kai distribution efforts.

Kandi brings extensive governance experience, chairing and contributing to boards across government, education, health, and community sectors. Raised on the marae, she upholds maatauranga Maaori and tikanga in all her mahi, with a strong focus on equity, transparency, and outcomes for whaanau, hapuu, and iwi.
