Hinekura Ngataki

Hinekura’s philosophy in life is deeply rooted in her weaving of her cultural and clinical fusion and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for whānau Māori. As a Kaitohutohu Clinical Advisor, Neehi Māori she is especially focused on addressing the key determinants of health and tackling the systemic inequities that affect our people.

Her experience in Primary, Community Health Management, Leadership and Governance has further enhanced and strengthened every stage of her journey—past, present, and future. These elements align closely with her whānau-first, whanau-centred philosophy of care. She is both a paddler and a steerer in the hauora waka, always learning, adapting, and responding to the evolving needs of our hapori.

As a transformer and changemaker, she continues to evolve and work towards navigating the challenges and embracing the opportunities that lie ahead for Whanau Māori. Her clinical expertise and leadership have been instrumental in developing strong, effective collective clinical governance, and she holds a deep sense of duty of care to the communities she serves.

Her vision moving forward is to continue to contribute to the whakapapa, purpose, and the vision of Ngaa Pou Hauora oo Taamaki Makaurau Iwi Māori Partnership Board with clarity, purpose, and integrity.
